2014 resolution

My resolution for the new year is to do what i love. I plan to write as much as i am able to, read as many books as i can get my hands on, spend time with my friends, smile constantly, love with no hesitation, and just have fun. I have no high expectations that a new year will bring a new me, but it will bring a better me.

Okay guys, lots going on this past week. I went to the presentation at my old school JMHS and I rocked out the guest speaker gig. They thought I made an impact enough that they want me to go back and talk to more kids, and then possibly move to other schools in the area. (Pretty awesome if ya ask me!)

Also, I have a friend over at examiner.com who is going to be showing me some author love by writing an article about myself and the books XD.

I am in the works for doing a few other promotional things currently and as soon as I get all of it worked out I will update you guys on that.

Lunangelique by Kristin R Campbell

Today for my stop on the Lunangelique blog tour I am reviewing the three books in the series.

Lunangelique Synopsis:
For Alexis and Alex life has been great. They have loving parents, great friends and live a life every teenager dreams. However, they are adopted and Alexis struggles with wanting to know who their real parents are and not wanting to hurt her adopted parents. Then, a stunning guy moves across the street from them. One who has a secret past and seems to know things about Alexis. One who does mysterious things and leads her to other mysterious persons. One who pushes her to discover her extraordinary birth family and the truth between mythology and religion.

MY REVIEW:star::star::star::star:
As the first book in this series I was excited to see what Kristin had in store for the readers and I was not disappointed when it came to the plot and development of the characters. I had to fight to put the book down. It easily held my attention and I quickly fell in love with Alex, Lexi and Cole.
The only complaint I have when it comes to the book are the grammar errors.
Kristin Campbell has an amazing mind to come up with the ideas in the book. If you enjoy mythology, angels, romance and action I suggest you check this book out!

Sleeping Gods Synopsis:
Alexis must pick up the broken pieces of her heart and pull herself together because she has a mission: To awaken the sleeping gods. When she is at the point of giving up, wearing her pretend smiles and feels like there is nothing left of herself, her friend becomes her savior. Patryck helps put Alexis back together again and in return Alexis sees him as something more than a friend…

Together with her brother, Alex, her father, Edmund, and a team of angels they make their way to Mount Latmos, to awaken the gods. But obstacles are in their way, one of them being Cole, the traitor, the one who shattered Alexis’ heart.

New friends and family she never thought she would meet will come to aid Alexis.

…And a love will blossom that will redefine the saying, “Love you forever.”

MY REVIEW:star::star::star::star:
As the second book of this series it stayed with the events from the first book. I was able to fall in love with new characters and continue to enjoy the previous characters. The plot gave plenty of twists and turns and I enjoyed every second of this book.
Again, the grammar seemed to be the only complaint I have with this book.
 If you enjoy mythology, angels, romance and action I suggest you check this book out!

 Awakened Gods Synopsis:

Lexi has fulfilled her destiny and now the gods have awakened, but is that a good thing?

Now, Lexi lives in a world that is on a global collapse. The gods are angry that they have been forsaken and are seeking revenge on humanity. The oceans are in turmoil, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, volcano eruptions and famine are causing global chaos, and the sun is being held hostage in an astrological phenomenal, never-ending solar eclipse by the avenging Helios.
Then, there is the problem of Zeus’ threat. Lexi must choose between giving herself to him or watching the “abominable” angels die by his hand. Not to mention, Hera, Zeus’ wife, is proposing her own jealous-driven proposition to Lexi: stay away from her husband or the angels and everyone dear to her will die. Lexi sees no way out of either predicaments and it puts a strain on her relationship with Cole. Will she lose him either way?

MY REVIEW:star::star::star::star:
As the conclusion to the series, I was not disappointed. All the questions throughout the book were answered and I love how Kristin stayed with the plot the entire series. There seemed to be a meaning for everything she wrote. I could not put this book down.
Again, the grammar was the only issue I came across.
If you enjoy mythology, angels, romance and action I suggest you check this book out!

Pulse by HJ Daly review

This has to be one of my favorite books I have ever read!

In this post-apocalyptic world where a magical realm has merged with the normal world, Esa struggles with her past as she makes new friends and begins a whole new life filled with love, loss and magic.

I struggled to put this book down. It had me pulled in from the first page. H.J. Daly is a tremendous author who can bring the images to life through her words.

Resolution Blog tour

I am todays stop for Cheryllynn Dyess' Resolution Blog Tour hosted by Lady Amber's Tours.

The population of Calastan is thriving and the Governess has decided that they need to expand.  She has spoken to the other tribes and has the go ahead to explore Resolution and expand into that territory.  The Governess turns to Jein and Yurani to go and explore the new land and start a village that can sustain a new population.  In Resolution, they find more than just a land blessed with life and nature, but they also find their lost ancestors.  The ones that had explored before and never returned.

Join Jein and Yurani as they explore Resolution searching for a new home for their people.  Finding land and food is the easy part…it’s what else they find that rewrites their history.

Interest peaked? Here is a excerpt into the book.

“Yurani,” I say with an expression of utmost seriousness. “Let’s get in the trees and travel high today!” My expression changes immediately into a smile and I jog to the nearest tree that will allow us to get up without any struggle. The trees here are not like the EKkyl trees of Calastan; these trees, although tall and very broad, have limbs much lower to the ground. This makes the climb easy. As we go from limb to limb, climbing higher we take brief moments to look at the land around us. It only took a few minutes to climb to the top where we could see above the top of the forest and look out for miles in every direction. The air was clear and starting to warm. There were no clouds in the sky; just, a beautiful blue hue that hung in the air. The view was truly overwhelming. From here the land resembles Calastan at a brief glance but upon scrutiny you can plainly see the differences.

About the author:

As a youth I loved to write and originally set out to deal with life. I never dreamed I would be writing to share with the world. As an adult my writing continued and have always been told I was talented. I finally listened and put my imagination to the test and started to write a book. Amazingly it took very little time to create an entire world and people and story line. This book reflects how I perceive life and how I feel it should really be!

God has given me a great talent, wonderful support team and I'm finally using my gift from him!

Calastan is the first book in the Jein's Journey series that introduces you to Jein in her seventeenth year. Jein is a beautiful young woman who refuses to follow tradition and wants to do things her own way (kinda reflects my personality to the "T").

I am a mother of three and grandmother to one ~ my driving force is to show them to NEVER give up on dreams and goals, they can be reached if you believe.
